*How did you get started in BJJ?
I was at a point where I needed a bit of structure. I was new in the area and I needed a hobby to occupy myself. I did a bit of boxing but I didn’t know much about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ).
*What was your first three months like in BJJ?
The first week was really awesome and then it was all downhill. I was at the bottom of foodchain and there was a lot to learn. It is definitely something that you need to stick to it and be persistent.
*What is your favourite move?
Triangle. I love the guard. *Note from Dave: but she can’t do armbars properly…
*How long have you been training now?
Nearly 9 months.
*What’s your plan in the next 12 months?
I want to compete more. I really want the win. I know it’s not always about the result but I really want to win [a competition].
*If you are a given three Jiu Jitsu wishes, what would they be?
1. Have a mad guillotine like Paul.
2. Have great pressure when passing
3. Beat all the boys in the gym! (Boys take note!!!)
*Someone brand new comes into the gym and asked for your advice. What would you tell them?
It’s awesome, and just stick to it. I love it!
I will tell them that they will love it at first and then they will hate. But just STICK to it!
